INTRO TO MICROBLADING
MICROBLADING technique
Microblading has taken the beauty industry by storm in recent years. A very natural looking brow can be achieved using a hand-held tool, creating many hair-like impressions by implanting pigment strokes under the skin. Microblading is meant to replace individual hairs, not to fill your brows to look like they're filled in with pencil or shadow.
Pros: Microbladed brows look very natural. If done by an experienced professional, each stroke looks like real hair.
Cons: Microbladed brows are the least permanent of all Permanent Makeup because of the shallow depth we penetrate the pigment under the skin. They therefore require more frequent touch ups than other techniques. Typically clients come back between 8-12 months for a colour boost. Microblading is less effective on oily/combination skin types than other methods.
Who is it best for:
Microblading is perfect for someone who:
- has thin or patchy brows
- wants a subtle shape enhancement
- doesn’t regularly fill in their brows
POWDER BROWS/FILL technique
This technique has been around for decades, but has been gradually improving over the years. The ombré powder fill method is more like a traditional tattoo, and involves the application of thousands of tiny dots of pigment, inserted into the skin, gradually building up a colour and defined shape.
Pros: Ombre powder fill brows use a more traditional tattooing method, with longer lasting results, and works with most skin types, including oily or combination skin. Clients come back for colour boosts closer to the 12-18month mark. The brow is also fuller and more defined or dramatic than with the hairstroke method.
Cons: Because this method has been around for a long time, it doesn't have the best reputation. Many people are fearful of this method looking unnatural, because it does create a more defined, solid look than microblading alone. But today's powder fill permanent brows are much more advanced and so much more natural looking than their 1985 predecessors. In fact, ombre fill brows can be made to look very natural, by not saturating the desired brow shape 100% with pigment and allowing for a defined yet soft/non solid look.
Who is it best for: If you are someone with oily or combination skin, or who fills in your brows regularly with pencil or shadow, then this is the method for you! It mimics the look of filled in brows, without all the effort each morning.
Hybrid technique
This technique is very popular in today’s trend. It is a mixture of Microblading in the first heading and Powder fill in the second heading.
Pros: The combination of microbladed hair strokes and a powder fill gives an incredibly natural looking brow. It's a bit more defined and filled in than just straight microbladed brows, and a bit less solid and dramatic than the ombre powder fill.
Cons: The hybrid brow costs slightly more than the other two methods, but only slightly.
Who is it best for: I really love this technique for everyone to be honest. All brows are customized specifically for each individual client based on your desired look, skin type, colouring, bone structure etc. There are no two clients with the same brow design
OMBRE BROWS
Ombre brows: Ombre semi-permanent eyebrows give off a more glamorous look. They are not as harsh as block filled brows, but give a denser coverage than a hairstroke treatment. The shading makes the look slightly softer, and the powder technique ensures there are no harsh edges. This suits clients who either want a more ‘made up’ look, or who already have good hair growth and just want a little tweak to the shape and base colour.
Microblading or Hairstroke brows: These are essentially replicates of your natural brows, and are a great solution for over plucked eyebrows, for those who are suffering hair loss or people who just naturally have very thin, sparse hair growth. Permanent eyebrows can be created that perfectly mimic your natural brow, creating a perfect arch and very flattering shape. Using microblading, each hair stroke is applied individually, giving you a very natural looking finish, and absolutely perfect eyebrows.
FEATHER TOUCH
The old ways of block cosmetic tattooing are long gone. Welcome to the new era of eyebrow cosmetic tattoo called "Feather Touch".
Turn your sparse eyebrows into perfectly symmetrical, totally natural looking brows that elegantly shape and frame the face. This technique is ultra precise and mimics and imitates real brow hairs allowing for a more natural look.
Of course, the brows can be customised to the clients wants and needs and a solution can be tailored for each person as everyone is different!
Unlike the harsh block tattooing of the past, Feather Touch Tattoo looks completely natural because it mimics the real brow hair and can be individually customised. Depending on your needs, brows can be subtly coloured or completely remodelled as each new strand is intricately etched and coloured by hand.
Welcome to the new era of cosmetic eyebrow embroidery, the new semi-permanent makeup technology that can give you that natural stylish look you’re after. Just think of the amount of time you will save re-drawing your eyebrows!
Wake up to perfect brows.
What is cosmetic eyebrow embroidery?
Cosmetic eyebrow embroidery is a semi-permanent technique using colour pigment drawn onto the skin giving you natural looking eyebrows. The technique used is natural feathering of hair like strokes creating a beautifully designed brow.
Is this the same as an eyebrow “tattoo”?
Yes, and no. Yes it can be considered as a form of tattoo, however, the pigments are distilled water based (opposed to the common oil carrier based pigments in conventional tattoos) thus resulting to a semi-permanent lasting result.
The work involved with eyebrow embroidery is only performed on the skin surface. Thus, making eyebrow embroidery a MUCH SAFER treatment than traditional eyebrow tattoos. The colour can also be adjusted in alignment with the original eyebrow hair colour, which results to a realistic look and feel. Eyebrow embroidery creates the background and fills in the parts of the eyebrows that looked empty so that a full and complete look is accomplished. The “3D” effect gives it an added realism to the end result.
Unlike an eyebrow tattoo, eyebrow embroidery does not leave a flat, dull and fake look that tattoos leave behind, nor is it permanent, so you are free to modify the shape of your brows, according to the latest trends.
So why semi-permanent, why not permanent?
Semi-permanent gives you the flexibility to change, down the track. Permanent tattoos don’t. In fact, permanent tattoos tend to fade to a dull blue shade that sticks around like a bad smell. Thus, going semi-permanent offers you the option of continuing with your current shape (by simply doing a “top-up” treatment) or completely reshape your eyebrows.
Any exceptions to cosmetic tattoo?
Usually oily skin types or people who use excessive active ingredients such as AHA and retinols.
We do not provide the cosmetic tattoo service during pregnancy or recommend this procedure whilst breast feeding.
There are certain skin types are not compatible with retaining the pigment in the skin.
